Funeral Train
One last journey together..
Whistlestop Valley is proud to offer friends and families the opportunity to take a final train journey together with a loved one aboard a funeral train.
We offer a sympathetic and flexible funeral train service on days when the attraction is not open to the general public.
Our staff will work sensitively with the funeral directors and/or family of the deceased to provide only the most fitting send off.
How it works
The coffin will travel securely atop a black wagon, directly behind the steam engine, with passenger coaches situated behind.
The train ride takes a minimum of 70 minutes but can be lengthened should there be specific requirements or special requests.
Catering services can also be provided in The Firebox cafe should the funeral party wish to have some light refreshments or a more substantial offering either before or after their train journey.
Prices
Funeral Train Service: £300
This includes liaison with the funeral director and/or family of the deceased to ensure exact requirements are met, space at Clayton West Station for the funeral party to gather and an exclusive return steam-hauled service to Shelley Station.
